What is the WPS?

Wages Protection System (WPS) is an electronic salary transfer system that enables organisations to pay employees’ salaries through banks, bureaux de change, and other financial institutions that have been approved and permitted to offer the service. To ensure the timely and complete payment of agreed-upon wages, the Ministry of Labour can construct a database that tracks salary payments in the private sector using the system created by the Central Bank of the UAE.
